The Challenge
The compressed air system with Atlas Copco compressors supplies critical processes, so its control could not be allowed to stop.
The Solution
We implemented a control system with a redundant Siemens CPU 1517: two CPUs run in parallel, and if one fails, the other takes over without interruption.
The system was integrated into the DCS for central monitoring.
